Our mission is to support musicians and creative professionals who face unique challenges while in early recovery and on the road to a new way of life.
SMAF NOLA Fundraiser
May 8, 2018
The energy that came with the support for our New Orleans Fundraising event during jazzfest is still inspiring us today! Our Co-Founder, Anders Osborne and Nolatet delivered a very special, unique, and intimate performance and the setting at John Bukaty Gallery was perfect. We can not thank you enough, FRIENDS! We are honored to start our new partnership with Positive Vibrations Foundation off on the good foot and truly grateful to all of you who have gotten us to where we are at today!! We'll have event photos up next week.
Over the past 12 months, Send Me A Friend has developed a national network of over 1,500 volunteer “Friends” who are on-call to support musicians and staff at their gigs. SMAF has already helped over 50 music industry professionals in early recovery. Over the next year, SMAF will focus its attention on working with treatment centers in music cities such as Nashville and New Orleans with the goal of being available to those in need at a critical stage in their early recovery.
Our new mobile app is LIVE! Thanks to our partners at Sober Grid for creating an amazing space where our network of "Friends" can communicate with one another. Once you download the Sober Grid app, just search for "Send Me A Friend" under "Group."
